Cornell University Athletics

As a senior (2019-20)

• Finished the season 1-0 with a win over Bryton Goering of Presbyterian at the Cornell Open.

As a sophomore (2018-19)

• Went 0-2 at 149 pounds at the season-opening Bearcat Open in his only varsity competition for the season.
 

As a freshman (2017-18)

• Pickett went 5-3 as a freshman, including taking fifth in the B bracket of the New York State Intercollegiates at 141 pounds.
• Was 5-1 with wins by fall and tech fall at the state meet.
• Won four straight matches to claim fifth after falling in the second round.
• Also wrestled at the Binghamton Open.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Pickett wrestled at Blair Academy, where he was part of three national championship teams.
• Earned NHSCA All-America honors as a senior.
• Was 4-6 overall while wrestling at 141 pounds for the Finger Lakes Wrestling Club in 2016-17.
 

Personal

• William Maximo Pickett is the son of George and Debra Pickett and has an older brother.
• His brother George "Duke" Pickett Jr. wrestled four seasons for the Big Red, graduating in 2016.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
