Biography

As a senior (2019-20)

• Went 10-4 as a senior and appeared in a pair of duals for the Big Red.
• Earned a 3-2 record at the Bearcat Open and a 3-1 record at the Cornell Open.
• Split his appearances at duals with a 1-1 record, defeating Binghamton's Dylan Wood by major decision, 13-5.


As a junior (2018-19)

• Posted a 19-7 record with six bonus point victories.
• Was 1-1 in dual meets, including a victory over Wyoming.
• Finished as runner-up at the Cleveland State Open and the New York State Intercollegiate at 149 pounds.
• Took third at the season-opening Bearcat Open and the Shorty Hitchcock Invitational.
• Also wrestled at the South Beach Invitational.
 

As a sophomore (2017-18)

• Posted a 10-2 record while wrestling primarily at 149 pounds.
• Took second at the New York State Intercollegiate Championship at 149, falling in the finals to teammate Jonathan Furnas 7-3.
• Finished sixth at the Binghamton Open, winning his final four matches after dropping his second round bout.
• Had an eight-match win streak during the year.
• Earned a 10-5 decision over Columbia's Laurence Kosoy at 165 pounds in the Big Red's dual meet win over the Lions.
 

As a freshman (2016-17)

• Went 9-4 for the Big Red at 149 pounds, placing in the Open Division of the New York State Intercollegiate championships.
• Was 3-2 at the Binghamton Open, winning his first two matches.
• Was 6-2 at New York States, wrestling back from a second round loss to finish fifth overall.
• Six of his wins came by bonus points, with four major decisions and a pair of tech falls.
 

Prior to Cornell

• A three-time all-state selection at Bay City Western HS, he won a state championship as a senior.
• Posted a 58-2 record with 20 pints as a senior at 145 pounds en route to MLive Bay Area Wrestler of the Year accolades.
• Also placed second as a sophomore and fourth as a junior.
• Schoenherr won state titles in folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman in 2015.
• Was a two-year team captain.
• Had a career record of 152-24.
 

Personal

• Christian Scott Schoenherr is the son of Steven and Bethany Schoenherr and has four brothers and four sisters.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
