As a senior (2020-21)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a junior (2020)

• Competed on the floor in all nine meets on the season
• Also saw action on the balance beam in eight meets and on the uneven bars in the final five meets on the season
• Scored over a 9.8 four times; once on the floor, once on the bars and twice on the beam
• Averaged a 9.540 on the bars, a 9.559 on the beam and a 9.767 on the floor
• One of the region’s top floor performers, with her 9.760 national qualifying score second on the team and 35th in the region
• Earned ECAC All-Academic honors
• Named a USAG Scholar-Athlete
 

As a sophomore (2019)

• Competed in three meets during the season, earning spots in the lineup on bars, beam and floor.
• Scored a season high of 9.775 at George Washington in the season opener and a 9.550 on bars at Towson.
• Posted 9.675 or better in all three meets on floor, including in the USAG Collegiate Nationals semifinals.

As a freshman (2018)

• Captured second-team USAG Collegiate All-America honors on floor.
• Started in every meet on bars, beam and floor during her rookie campaign.
• Her 9.840 regional qualifying score was the second-highest on the team.
• Twice scored 9.875 on floor, the sixth-highest score in school history.
• Had a season-best 9.800 on beam, the fourth-highest mark on the team.
• Tied for second on floor at the ECAC Championship.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Smith is a two-time Junior Olympic national qualifier while competing out of the Houston Gymnastics Center.
• She competed at level 10 while attending Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart.
 

Personal

• Madison Renee Smith is the daughter of Chris and Ivonne Smith and has an older sister and younger brother.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
