Biography
As a junior (2019-20)
• Competed in eight meets for the Big Red as a junior, including the Ivy League Championships.
• Scored points for Cornell and posted season-bests in all three events in which she swam at Ivies, finishing among the top-20 of the 500-, 1000-, and 1650- freestyle events.
• Cracked Cornell’s all-time top-10 list in the 500-freestyle at the conference meet, posting the 10th-fastest time (4:57.57) in Big Red history.
• Placed among the top-15 of the 500-freestyle, 1650-freestyle, 200-backstroke, and 400-IM at Akron’s Zippy Invitational.
• Won the 500-freestyle and finished as the runner-up in the 1000-freestyle in Cornell’s victory over St. Bonaventure.
• Placed second in the 400-IM and recorded a personal-best in the 100-backstroke (1:00.98) against Binghamton.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Did not see varsity action.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Posted the 10th-fastest time in school history in the 1,650 free, swimming a lifetime-best 17:06.99 for 17th overall at the Ivy League Championship.
• Scored in the 1,000 free at the league meet with a season-best 10:16.96.
• Also swam the 500 free at Ivies.
• Competed in each dual meet during her rookie season, posting eight top three individual race finishes.
• Won the 500 and 1,000 free races against Columbia and was the runner-up at both distances against MIT.
• Was second in the 1,000 free against Harvard.
• Took third in the 400 IM and 1,650 free and fourth in the 500 free at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.
Prior to Cornell
• Doel was a two-time team captain at East Lake HS.
• Named team MVP as a senior.
• Helped team to a team state title in 2015.
• Also a competitive triathlete, placing fifth at the Ironkids National Championships in 2011.
• Competed for the Clearwater Aquatics team.
Personal
• Annaklara Delaney Doel is the daughter of Kevin and Zsuzsa Doel and has an older brother and sister.
• She is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
