Biography

As a junior (2019-20)

• Rowed from the bow on the Big Red’s men’s championship eight boat at the Head of the Charles Regatta, helping Cornell post a time of 14:54.47.
• Rowed on the Cornell A 8+ boat in Flight 2 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, helping the group place fourth among 22 boats and post the fastest Big Red heavyweight time (11:13.67) of the day.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.

As a sophomore (2018-19)

• Competed in eight regattas during the 2018-19 campaign, rowing primarily on the second varsity eight in the sixth seat.
• Helped the second varsity eight to a fourth place finish in the Petite Final at the 2019 EARC Sprints, placing 10th overall.
• Guided the second varsity eight to a sixth place showing in the Petite Final at the 2019 IRA National Championships, finishing 12th overall.
• Rowed on the second varsity eight at the Las Vegas Invitational, helping the boat win their race in 5:57.60 and guiding Cornell to wins over Oregon State and Marist.
• Led the second varsity eight to wins over No. 12 Penn and Georgetown, helping the Big Red hoist the James Wray Memorial Trophy.
• Rowed on the first varsity eight at the Cornell Autumn Classic.

Prior to Cornell

• Helped the New Zealand men’s under-19 eight to a fourth place finish at the 2016 World Championship.
• Won gold in the varsity eight and the varsity four, while taking bronze in the coxless pair while representing Auckland in the Queensland State Championship Regatta in Australia.
• Competed with the Auckland Regional Performance Centre Team.

Personal

• Carl Gordon Pracey is the son of Lyle and Heather Pracey and he has two brothers.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
