Biography

As a junior (2019-20)

• Competed on the Cornell D 8+ boat in Flight 1 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, helping the group record a time of 12:32.28.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.

As a sophomore (2018-19)

• Competed in one regatta as a sophomore, the Cornell Autumn Classic.
• Rowed on the third varsity eight and sixth varsity four boats at the Cornell Autumn Classic.

As a freshman (2017-18)

• Rowed in the fourth varsity eight throughout the 2017-18 season.
• Helped the fourth varsity eight to victory in the Petite Final at the 2018 EARC Sprints to take a seventh place overall finish.

Prior to Cornell

• Rowed for five years with Y-Quad Cities Rowing Club.
• Served as team captain for two years.
• Holds the Small Team Mixed 19 and Under Heavyweight 100k World Record.
• Competed in the Fawley Cup at the 2015 Henley Royal Regatta.
• Earned a Youth Nationals’ bronze medal in the junior men’s quad.

Personal

• Alan Michael Romanick is the son of John and Dianna Romanick and he has two younger sisters and one younger brother.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
