Biography
As a freshman (2019-20)
• Coxed the Cornell C 4+ boat to a ninth place finish in Flight 1 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, as the boat completed the race in 12:48.49.
• Guided the Cornell F 4+ boat to a top-five finish in Flight 2 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, as the team placed fifth with a time of 14:07.80.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
Prior to Cornell
• Has coxed for the last four years for the Marin Rowing Association.
• Coxed the women’s lightweight 8+ boat that finished third and medaled at the Youth National Championships.
• Recipient of the Marin Rowing Association’s Bob Cumming Athlete of the Year Award in 2019.
• Elected as the Marin Rowing Association Men’s Varsity team captain during his senior year.
Personal
• William Charles Fredrick Zec is the son of David and Susan Zec and has one older brother.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
