Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Coxed the Cornell D 8+ boat in Flight 1 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, helping the group record a time of 12:32.28.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
Prior to Cornell
• Coxed the third Varsity 8 at the 2019 EARC Sprints for the College of the Holy Cross.
• Rowed for the New York Athletic Club while enrolled at the College of the Holy Cross in 2019.
• Crowned the 2019 Club National Champion with the men’s intermediate 4+.
• Helped the men’s senior 8+ and men’s intermediate 8+ to a pair of silver medals at the 2019 Club National Championship.
• Rowed for four years at Don Bosco Preparatory HS, serving as a coxswain.
• Helped the men’s junior 4+ boat to the SRAA National Championship, Garden State Scholastic Championship, and Philly City Championship in 2017.
• Collected bronze medals with the men’s junior 4+ boat at the 2016 SRAA National Championships and the 2017 Stotesbury Cup.
• Led the men’s senior 4+ boat to a pair of bronze medals at the 2018 Philly City Championships and 2018 Garden State Scholastic Championship.
• Named his team’s MVP in 2016.

• James Donald Kelso is the son of Robert and Roxanne Kelso.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
