Elected one of Cornell's tri-captains for the second year… first team All-GEC in all-around and vault and second team on beam and floor… competed in all-around in all 12 competitions… ranked fourth in the conference in the all-around with a 38.775… took home four top scores in all-around, five in the vault and one uneven bars title… had team's top national qualifying score on floor (9.830), vault (9.815) and beam (.7450) … posted a 9.7 or better on vault 11 times and on the floor nine times… was named GEC Gymnasts of the Week on Jan 15… named a GEC Scholar-Athlete.
2023-24 | JUNIOR SEASON
Elected one of Cornell's tri-captains ... earned three first team USAG Collegiate All-American honors (beam, floor, vault) and a second team nod in the all-around ... first team All-GEC in all-around, floor, vault and second team on beam ... competed in all-around in all 12 competitions, setting a new program record score of 39.275 in final home meet against Centenary ... took home three other top scores in all-around ... had team's top national qualifying score on floor (9.880) and vault (9.860), also had third-highest team score on beam (9.760) and uneven bars (9.680) ... posted a 9.5 or better on bars nine times, including career-best 9.775 to earn silver against Centenary and 9.700 against Bridgeport to grab gold ... closed season with nine consecutive scores of 9.7 or higher on beam ... had the second-best score in event with 9.825 at USAG Collegiate Nationals Team Semifinals ... excelled on floor with 11 scores of 9.800 or more ... earned top score on floor six times, highlighted by a 9.925 at LIU quad meet and top score (9.900) at GEC Championship ... had 10 instances of 9.8 or higher on vault and top score in six invites ... tied program mark with 9.900 at LIU quad meet ... snagged three GEC Gymnast of the Week honors ... named a GEC and USAG Scholar Athlete ... also earned the Karen Walsh Award for Physical & Mental Toughness.
2022-23 I SOPHOMORE SEASON
Three-time first team USAG Collegiate All-American (all-around, floor, vault) ... first team All-GEC in the all-around, as well as on vault and floor ... scored a 9.900 on floor at Penn, the fifth-highest score on the event in school history ... competed in the all-around in all 11 competitions ... posted a 9.750 or better on floor 12 times, including at the USAG Collegiate national finals ... her season highs rank in the top three on all four events ... had the team's top national qualifying score on vault (9.800), floor (9.830) and was second on bars (9.550) and third on beam (9.705) ... claimed the all-around title at the Ivy Classic (38.950) ... three-time GEC Gymnast of the Week.
2021-22 I FRESHMAN SEASON
USAG Collegiate all-around national champion with a 39.125, the second-highest total in school history ... earned four USAG Collegiate All-America honors, including a first team nod on vault and floor in addition to the all-around ... second team on beam ... named GEC Co-Newcomer of the Year in the conference's initial season ... first team All-GEC in the all-around and second team on floor ... became the conference's first vault champion with a 9.850, the seventh-best score in school history ... runner-up for the all-around title at the Ivy Classic ... recorded the team's highest National Qualifying Score on vault (9.720) and was second on both beam (9.730) and floor (9.755).
PRIOR TO CORNELL
Three-time Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals qualifier while competing for New Image Gymnastics and attending John F. Kennedy HS ... won floor, took second on vault and third on beam and the all-around at the regional championships ... took seventh on beam and eighth on vault at the 2018 Junior Olympic National Championships.
PERSONAL
Sydney Alexa Beers is the daughter of Dreu and Felicia Beers and has three younger sisters ... she is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
