Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Competed in eight meets for Cornell as a sophomore, including the Ivy League Championships.
• Qualified for the B Final of the 1-meter diving at Ivies, placing 12th with 261.55 points.
• Scored points for the Big Red in the 3-meter at the conference meet as well, finishing 18th with 269.65 points.
• Placed third in the 3-meter diving at an Ivy League dual against Yale, notching a season-best point total of 304.65.
• Posted a pair of top-five finishes in the diving events at a meet against Penn and Princeton, placing fourth in the 1-meter with a season-best 288.10 points.
• Won the 1-meter and finished second in the 3-meter against Binghamton, helping Cornell to the team victory.
• Finished second in both diving events against St. Bonaventure and third in both disciplines against Columbia.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Scored in the 3-meter diving competition at the Ivy League Championship meet, placing a team-high 11th with a score of 297.20 (No. 7 all-time at Cornell).
• Had eight top three dual meet finishes during the season.
• Had the second-highest scores in both diving events during the year.
• Captured the team's Hardest Worker Award for divers.
Prior to Cornell
• Crandell was a three-time all-state diver at Rick Reedy HS.
• Was a member of U.S.A. Diving senior national team in 2018 while competing for the Mustangs in the Sun club.
• Earned district and regional titles three years in a row.
• Two-time TISCA state champion (2016-17).
Personal
• Jameson Gray Crandell is the son of Todd Crandell and Holly Yarid and has a twin brother, Jackson, as well as an older (Ashlynn) and younger (Catherine) sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
