Cornell University Athletics

• Competed in all nine meets during sophomore campaign, including the Ivy League Championships.
• Raced in the 500-, 1000-, and 1650-freestyle at Ivies, notching personal-bests and cracking Cornell’s all-time top-10 list in all three events.
• Scored points for the Big Red in the 1650-freestyle (15:28.01) and 1000-freestyle (9:14.65) at the conference meet, finishing 12th and 16th, respectively.
• His 1650-freestyle time is the third-fastest in the Big Red record books, his 1000-freestyle mark ranks sixth all-time, and his 500-freestyle personal best (4:29.45) is the 10th-fastest in Cornell history.
• Swam on the school record-breaking 800-freestyle relay team at the conference meet, helping the group finish sixth with the fastest time in Cornell history (6:31.25).
• Captured a trio of third-place finishes at Akron’s Zippy Invitational in the 500-, 1000-, and 1650-freestyle events.
• Also made the A Final of the 400-IM at the Zippy Invitational, finishing seventh and recording a personal-best time of 3:58.79 in prelims.
• Notched five top-five individual finishes at dual meets over the course of the season, including three in the 1000-freestyle.
• Placed second in the 1000-freestyle and third in the 200-backstroke in Cornell’s dual meet victory over St. Bonaventure.

• Emerged as one of the team's top distance racers, posting top 10 times in school history in the 1,000 and 1,650 free.
• Had the sixth-fastest time in school history in the mile (15:36.29) to place 15th at the Ivy League Championship.
• Took 16th in the 1,000 free (9:17.09), posting the seventh-fastest mark ever at Cornell.
• Also scored in the 200 back at the Ivy meet.
• Was the runner-up in the 1,000 free in duals meet against Columbia and Brown and in the 500 free at Bryant.
• Captured the team's Hardest Worker Award along with teammate Ian Russiello.

• Lawson was an all-state swimmer while competing for the Virginia Gators Club team and Salem HS.
• Was a member of the USA Gold Medal Club for 2018.
• Captained his high school team as a senior.

• Jacob Everett Lawson is the son of Christopher and Trish Lawson and has a younger brother.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
