At Cornell
Donoghue started all 16 games and doubled her production in her sophomore season, leading the team and ranking eighth in the Ivy League with six goals to earn second-team All-Ivy honors. She registered the game-winning goal vs. Lafayettem, and as an integral member of the Big Red’s penalty corner defense, she also registered a defensive save vs. Lehigh. Donoghue saw significant minutes as a freshman, playing in 16 games and making two starts. A player with great playmaking skills, she finished the 2005 campaign with three goals, two of which came in Ivy League play. Donoghue was awarded the team’s Class of ‘91 Cup, given annually to the player with the most promising future. She was selected to the 2006 NFHCA National Academic Squad, as well as the Academic All-Ivy team.
At Souderton HS
A first-team all-league, all-district and all-state selection in 2004, Donoghue was named second-team all-region by the Philadelphia Inquirer after leading her team to its second league title in three seasons. A Keystone State Games participant for three years, Donoghue helped her squad earn a silver medal in 2002. She was a four-year Futures participant and was a 2004 Elite selection. Her club team, Souderton Strikers, reached the Pool E title game at the 2002 and 2003 National Festival.
Personal
Katlyn H. Donoghue is the daughter of Peter and Peggy Donoghue. She has a younger brother, Bradley. Donoghue is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
