The Athletics Multimedia & Production Internship reports to the Associate Director of Athletics for Video Production & Recruiting Services, will assist with various multimedia aspects covering all 37 varsity sports. The intern will work as part of the game-day video production team, producing and broadcasting video board shows and online streams during Cornell athletics events. The candidate will gain hands-on experience in game-day productions, non-linear video editing, graphic design and broadcast engineering.
The candidate will:
        • Assist in the production of broadcasts for ESPN+ and for in-venue video boards at Schoellkopf Field, Lynah Rink and Newman Arena.
        • Learn how to direct, technical direct, operate replay and graphics machines, and perform other duties as assigned during live productions.
        • Work on post-production video editing projects, creating original content for the CornellBigRed.com website, video board shows and online streams.
        • Help maintain all broadcast equipment and the Cornell Athletics' production facilities
        • After appropriate training, the intern will take on a role of lead producer for some games, with the responsibility over all video and audio elements of the game production and the
        broadcast crew for the event.
This is internship includes a monthly living allowance of $1,750 per month for 10 months and covers the time period from August 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025. No relocation expenses or Visa sponsorship are available for this internship.
Qualifications
        • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred.
        • Previous work experience in live event production as an undergraduate, graduate, or intern preferred.
        • Demonstrated knowledge of video editing and streaming.
        • Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite.
        • Understanding of social media platforms.
        • Experience with content management systems a plus.
        • Must have an excellent knowledge of athletics and athletic terminology.
        • Must be able to work long hours including nights and weekends.
        • Ability to work with diverse personalities under pressure.
        • Service minded.
