Facility Scheduling Statement

Cornell Athletics is committed to supporting a vibrant and inclusive campus community through thoughtful and strategic facility scheduling. To ensure alignment with institutional priorities and the needs of our diverse stakeholders, the following scheduling hierarchy guides all decisions for daily use requests of our centrally managed varsity athletics spaces.
  1. Varsity Athletics Activities: Varsity practices, competitions, and related programming receive top priority in all facility scheduling decisions.
  2. Overall Athletics & Physical Education (A&PE) Department Needs: This includes outdoor education, physical education classes, recreation services, intramural programs and wellness programming.
  3. Cornell Student Clubs and Organizations and other Cornell offices and partners: Recognized student groups may request facility access, which will be considered after varsity and general athletics needs are met.
  4. Outside, Non-Profit Organizations: External groups may be accommodated when space is available, but no guaranteed days or times are offered. Scheduling for these groups is contingent upon existing internal needs and availability.
Scheduling is a fluid and dynamic process. Adjustments may be made regularly to reflect changing needs, emerging priorities, and unforeseen circumstances. In cases of conflict, flexibility may be explored with involved parties, but the prioritization flow outlined above remains the guiding framework for all decisions.  Standing commitments to annual or special University-wide events (ie, Commencement, Orientation, Homecoming) take precedence over daily use needs.
