Biography
As a Junior (2017-18)
• Placed 10th at the IHSA Nationals championship in Individual novice flat.
• Represented the team at the Zones Championship in Intermediate Fences and Intermediate Flat.
• Finished second in both the intermediate fences and intermediate flat divisions at the Ivy League Championship.
As a Sophomore (2016-17)
• Selland was 3rd overall in Novice Flat at Ivy League Championships.
• She completed a successful show year in the novice division, qualifying for regionals over fences and moving up to the Intermediate division.
Before Cornell
• Selland competed in equestrian for all four years at Dana Hall School and was captain of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association team her senior year.
Personal
• Emily Kristina Selland is the daughter of Christopher and Donna-Lee Selland, who both graduated from Cornell.
• She has an older sister, Jen, and a younger brother, Scott.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
