Posted a 52-27 record, ranking second on the team in wins ... was 21st at NCAA Regionals in epee ... competed in the lineup at the Ivy Championships, going 7-6 overall ... posted a perfect 13-0 record at the Vassar Invite to kick off the season ... was 12-3 at Penn's Elite Invitational ... was 8-3 as the Big Red went 6-0 as a team at the Brandeis Invitational ... posted an 8-7 record at the Northwestern Duals.

2021-22 I JUNIOR SEASON
Made her varsity debut late in the regular season ... posted an 8-5 record as the Big Red went a perfect 13-0 at the Northwestern Duals, including wins over No. 2 Notre Dame among six ranked foes.

2020-21 I SOPHOMORE SEASON
Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2019-20 I FRESHMAN SEASON
Finished the season 39-31 (.557) in epee, going 6-6 at the Ivy League Round Robin ... placed 26th at the NCAA Regional, going 5-5 with a -1 touch differential ... went 7-3 at the Brandeis Invitational and 12-6 at the Northwestern duals.

PRIOR TO CORNELL
Member of the New York Fencing Academy ... finished ninth overall at the 2017 Cadet World Cup in Espoo, Finland ... placed 10th at the 2018 Cadet World Cup in Krakow, Poland ... earned a seventh place finish at the 2019 Junior North American Cup (Charlotte, N.C.) ... took 11th place at the 2018 Junior Olympic National Championships ... finished in 14th place at the 2018 Junior North American Cup in Virginia Beach, Va.

Emily Lan Gao is the daughter of Ling Min Gao and Nicole Li-Gao and she has one brother and one sister ... enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences.
