Biography

At Cornell
Junior (2011-12): Rafenelli won the team's Greatest Academics Award after posting above a 4.0 grade-point average during the 2011-12 academic year.

Sophomore (2010-11): Rafanelli posted a 1-2 record during her sophomore season with her lone victory coming against Drew University.

Freshman (2009-10): Rafanelli finished her rookie campaign with a record of 9-18 overall. She went on to post a 1-3 record at NCAA Regionals to finish in 36th place.

At La Quinta HS
Rafanelli was a member of the South Coast Fencing Center. At the 2009 Summer Nationals, she finished 55th out of 105 fencers. Rafanelli also took third at the 2009 San Diego Division Open, after winning the 2008 Southern California Scholastic League Novice tournament.

Personal
Lucia Maria Rafanelli is the daughter of Gerard and Mary Rafanelli. Her mother fenced at Stevens Institute of Technology, while her cousin Lauren Costella was an All-American swimmer at Stanford. Rafanelli is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
