Biography

At Cornell: Hall finished her junior year ranked second on the epee squad in wins with a record of 18-14 (.562) and advanced to her second straight NCAA tournament. She had an outstanding showing at the Ivy League championships, finishing with a mark of 11-7. Hall helped the Big Red epee squad to a third place team finish at the 2009 IFA championships, as she posted a 4-3 record. Hall advanced to the final round of the NCAA regionals, finishing 11th overall at the tournament with a 9-13 record. She was the Big Red’s top finisher at the NCAA tournament, ranking 19th overall in epee with seven victories. Hall had a very solid sophomore season, ranking second on the epee squad in wins with a 33-15 record (.688). She went 8-7 in Ivy League action to finish 11th in the conference. Despite entering the NCAA regionals as the 14th seed, Hall finished in eighth place and earned a spot in the NCAA championships. Hall concluded the NCAA championships with a 23rd place finish after posting a record of 6-17. Outside of Cornell, Hall participated in the competitive National Cup and had an outstanding result, finishing 28th overall in the Division I epee standings. Hall lost only one bout during the event, falling to accomplished fencer Leslie Marks, 5-3. By finishing in the top-32, Hall earned points to give her an opportunity to qualify for the US National Team. Hall finished a phenomenal rookie season ranked second on the team in overall wins and first on the epee squad with a record of 37-20 (.649). She compiled a record of 6-11 at the Ivy League championships. Hall narrowly missed out on advancing to the 2007 NCAA tournament, finishing ninth at the NCAA regionals.

Prior to Cornell: Hall fenced at the Los Angeles International Fencing Center under the direction of Coach Vadim Diambekov. She ranked in the top 16 at nationals, third at the Montreal Junior World Cup and also went to Vancouver and Spain for World Cups, earning an “A” rating in epee. Hall was also a three-year varsity letter winner in fencing at Harvard-Westlake HS, where she served as team captain. 

Personal: Tasha Larisa Hall is the daughter of Hava and Lewis Hall and she has a younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Art, Architecture and Planning.
