At Cornell
Victoria Wines had a phenomenal four years as the Big Red’s top fencer. She had a 231-44 overall record during her time at Cornell and became the first four-time All-Ivy fencer in Big Red history, earning first-team honors her freshman and sophomore season and second-team honors her junior and senior season. She was also named first-team All American as a sophomore. Wines traveled to the NCAA Championship all four years, placing 14th, third, 13th, and 18th overall, respectively. She co-captained the epee squad as a sophomore and a junior.

Wines posted an incredible rookie campaign, leading the team with a record of 56-12 and winning 82% of her bouts. She became the third fencer in Cornell history to be named first-team All-Ivy her freshman season as well, placing third overall at Ivy’s in the epee competition. Wines also took seventh in the January division of the North America Cup and eighth in the July division as a freshman.

Her sophomore season was Wines’ shining season. She led the team in wins again with a record of 53-12 and a winning percentage of 82%. Not only was she the first Big Red fencer in the history of the woman’s program to earn back-to-back first-team All-Ivy accolades with a third-place finish at Ivy’s in the epee competition, but she also posted the highest NCAA finish in school history by taking third overall in the epee competition at the 2015 NCAA Fencing Championship. This also led her to become Cornell’s first All-American since 2004. Wines then went on to place fifth at Junior Olympics her sophomore season as well.

Wines’ had the team-best record her junior season with a record of 60-6 and a winning percentage of 90%. She also placed seventh at the January division of the North America Cup as a junior. As a senior, Wines led the team in wins and winning percentage, posting a record of 62-14 and winning 82% of her bouts. She capped off her career placing 13th at the April division of the North America Cup.

As a senior, Wines went 62-14 and was named second-team All-Ivy after going 13-5 at the Ivy League Fencing Round Robin.
 
Prior to Cornell
Wines was a member of the Fencing Academy of Westchester. From 2008-12, she won 17 national medals, and earned a spot on the 2012 National Cadet team.  In her international debut, Wines won the gold medal in epee at the 2011 Moedling Cadet European Cup in Austria.
 
Personal
Victoria Rose Wines is the daughter of Steven and Laurel Wines and she has one older and one younger brother. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
