At Cornell
Career: A two-time honorable mention All-Ivy selection, DiPastina capped an outstanding Cornell career with arguably her best season in the Red and White. An assistant captain, she finished the regular season ranked fourth in the conference and 15th in the nation with 0.69 assists per game. Her 11 helpers on the year fell one short of the school record, coming in behind teammate
Taylor Standiford, who set the new standard with 12.
Junior (2013): DiPastina had another rock-solid campaign in the Big Red’s midfield, starting all 17 games during her junior season. A defensive minded midfielder that helped Cornell to rank fourth in the conference in goals allowed (2.12) and gave up just 6.1 penalty corners per contest, she also added one goal and two assists. DiPastina’s goal vs. No. 18 Drexel sent the game into overtime and she registered an assist against both Columbia and St. Francis (Pa.).
Following the season, DiPastina was named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
Sophomore (2012): DiPastina moved into a starting role during her sophomore season, getting the nod in all 17 contests. A solid defender that helps spark transition with her runs from the midfield, she also tallied one goal, scoring against Holy Cross. Following the season, DiPastina was named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
Freshman (2011): DiPastina had a solid rookie season, playing in 11 games and making four starts in the Big Red midfield. She finished the season with one goal and two assists for four points. DiPastina scored the game-winning goal against Lehigh in the 66th minute of action and assisted on the game-winner in Cornell’s 1-0 victory over Villanova.
At The Derryfield School
DiPastina lettered four times at the Derryfield School, serving as captain during her senior season. She helped her team to a pair of Class M-S state championships in
2007 and 2010. DiPastina was a two-time first-team all-state selection, after earning second-team honors as a sophomore. She was the Granite State All-Conference Player of the Year, and was a two-time Granite State all-conference selection. DiPastina was named to the Vermont/New Hampshire Senior All-Star Twin State Field Hockey team as a senior. She also lettered in ice hockey and lacrosse twice.
Personal
Ann Elizabeth DiPastina is the daughter of John and Margaret DiPastina and she has two older brothers and an older sister. Her older sister Kat is a member of the Big Red field hockey team. DiPastina is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
