At Cornell
DeStio was a three-time NFHCA Regional All-American and was selected to compete in the NFHCA Senior All-Star game in 2010. Cornell's all-time leading scorer (94 points) who also owns the school record for game-winning goals (12), she became the first player in school history to earn first-team All-Ivy honors three times. DeStio graduated second all-time at Cornell in goals (36) and third in assists (22). She helped the team to three second-place finishes in the Ivy League, the best finishes in program history. The three-time team offensive MVP was part of the winningest senior class in school history, posting a 42-22 overall record and a 20-8 conference mark. Cornell was 7-9 the year before her arrival. As a senior, she led the team and ranked fourth in the Ivy League with 12 goals, while leading the team and ranking sixth in the conference with 29 points. She also posted four game-winners on the season, three of which came during conference play.
 

At North Shore HS
De Stio earned 12 varsity letters in three sports - field hockey, basketball and lacrosse - during her career at North Shore HS. In 2004 and 2005, she was the field hockey team’s leading scorer and was team MVP, leading the squad to the Class B Nassau County Championships. She was an all-state and regional All-America selection in 2005 and 2006. De Stio was designated one of the top U19 players in the United States in field hockey and was invited to the junior national team camp in 2006-07. De Stio was part of the silver medal winning team in 2004 and bronze medal teams in 2005 and 2006 at the Empire State Games. She also lettered three times in basketball and four times in lacrosse, where she was named team MVP. For her accomplishments, De Stio was named North Shore’s top female athlete following her senior season.

Personal
Catherine Marie De Stio is the daughter of Tom and Linda De Stio and has a younger brother. She is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
