Bradshaw is a team player and dependable leader whose desire to win is evident in everything she does. On the field, she has great anticipation and plays an intelligent brand of field hockey. The 2007 co-captain started all 16 games last season and was an important part of Cornell’s special situations, serving as the team’s stick-stopper on penalty corners at the start of the season and converting 2-of-3 penalty strokes during the year. Her penalty stroke goal vs. Rutgers proved to be the game-winner. Bradshaw also made two defensive saves during the season, one of which helped to preserve a 2-1 victory over Penn. She had a solid sophomore season in the backfield for the Big Red, playing in 15 games and making 13 starts. A calm player with great vision and instincts, Bradshaw turned in an impressive rookie season, earning the team’s Class of ’91 Cup and the most improved player award. She made great strides throughout her freshman year and turned into one of the squad’s most reliable defenders. She appeared in all 16 games as a rookie, making 14 starts.

At Chapel Hill HS
Bradshaw was a four-time letter winner and three-year starter, helping Chapel Hill HS to the North Carolina Public School state championship in 2000. She earned all-conference honors each year from 2001 to 2004 and was named captain in 2004. Bradshaw also earned three letters in lacrosse and captained the team as a senior. She was also on the swim team. In addition to athletics, Bradshaw excelled in the classroom and was named as the booster club scholar-athlete.

Personal
Katherine Ruth Bradshaw is the daughter of Dennis and Anne Bradshaw and has an older brother, Michael. She is a student in Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
