At Cornell
Career: Katy Weeks will go down as one of the best all-around players in Big Red field hockey history, maintaining a solid presence on the field since her freshman season and starting all 67 games of her career. Weeks was a four-time All-Ivy honoree during her time at Cornell, a first-team selection in 2015 and 2016 and a second-team selection in 2013 and 2014. She was named first-team Mideast Region All-American her senior season after a second-team selection as a junior.
Weeks placed eighth in Cornell history for career points after catapulting from eleventh by scoring five points during her final game in a Big Red jersey. She also ranked sixth in Cornell history in career assists and eleventh in career goals.
Weeks started her journey at Cornell with an outstanding rookie campaign. She scored twenty points her freshman season, ranking fourth overall in Big Red rookie history. She also ended her freshman season with six assists and seven goals, which placed second and sixth in Cornell’s freshmen record books as well.
Her junior season, Weeks achieved three game-winning goals. This landed her at eighth in Big Red history for game winners in a single season.
Weeks’ final season at Cornell brought her an invitation to the NFHCA Division I Senior Game. She was also Cornell’s offensive MVP in 2016.
Junior (2015): Weeks, a first-team All-Ivy honoree, also capped her junior season with a second-team All-Mideast Region All-American selection. She finished the 2015 season with career highs in both points (21) and goals (eight), while adding five assists. Of her eight goals, three were game-winners, one was the Big Red's only score vs. No. 10 Albany, and one came in the final moments of Cornell's game vs. Dartmouth to send the contest to overtime. Weeks three game-winning goals ranks eighth in Cornell history for game winners in a single season. Following the year, she was selected as the team’s offensive MVP and was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
Sophomore (2014): Weeks earned her second consecutive second-team All-Ivy honor following her sophomore season. A player with explosive speed and the ability to create in the offensive end, she started all 16 games and finished the year with two goals and one assist. Both goals came in Ivy League play, as she scored vs. Brown and Princeton.
Following the season, she was named to the 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
Freshman (2013): Weeks was named second-team All-Ivy after posting one of the best freshman campaigns in Cornell history. She finished the year ranked third on the team with 20 points on a balanced offensive effort that included seven goals and six assists. Her 20 points rank fourth overall in Big Red history for points by a rookie, while her six assists (second) and seven goals (sixth) were also top marks by Cornell freshmen. Weeks registered a career-high four points on one goal and two assists at Holy Cross and matched that mark two days later with career-high two goals vs. Colgate.
Following the season, she was named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, as a Division I Scholar of Distinction.
At New Trier HS
Weeks was a three-year letter winner at New Trier high school, where she helped the team to back-to-back state championships in 2010 and 2011. The 2012 Illinois State Player of the Year, she was a two-time all-state selection in 2011 and 2012. Weeks also lettered three times in lacrosse, earning first-team All-America honors in 2012.
Personal
Katherine Ann Weeks is the daughter of Brice and Stephanie Weeks and she has one older sister. She is enrolled in Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration.
