At Cornell

The former NFL offensive lineman and Syracuse graduate has previous college coaching stops at Temple and UMass and in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills, the San Diego Chargers and the Indianapolis Colts.
Prior to Cornell
Dees most recently worked as an offensive assistant with the Colts for a season after two years with the NFL Operations team. He served as an assistant offensive line coach with the Chargers (2013-16) and two stints in the same position with the Bills (2012-13, 2017-19). Additionally, he served NFL Minority Fellowships with the Bulls (2000), Miami Dolphins (2004), Pittsburgh Steelers (2005), New Orleans Saints (2006) and Philadelphia Eagles (2007).
In five seasons at Temple (2006-10), Dees was named a finalist for the 2009 Offensive Line Coach of the Year by FootbalScoop.com. The 2009 and 2010 squads, under head coach Al Golden, combined to go 17-8 overall and 12-4 in Mid-American Conference play with a share of the 2009 MAC title. It was the best two-year span for the Owls on the gridiron in more than three decades. Dees served as tight ends and tackles coach for two years and three more directing the offensive line.
He previously spent a year at UMass (2011) as the team's running backs coach and recruiting coordinator, ultimately serving as interim head coach. Dees spent five seasons as tight ends coach at the University at Buffalo (2001-05), assisting with all aspects of the run and pass game under Cornell all-time great and former Big Red head coach Jim Hofher.
The offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Stony Brook from 1998-2000, Dees organized the run game as well as the pass protection and other specific aspects pertaining to the offensive line, tight ends and running backs. He coached three all-conference players. He began his coaching career as offensive and defensive line coach at Saint John the Baptist HS in West Islip, N.Y. in 1996 before serving as the graduate assistant and tight ends coach at Wagner College for one season in 1997.
Playing Career
Dees was a four-year letter winner at Syracuse from 1988-91, helping the Orange to a 35-12-2 record and four straight bowl appearances under head coaches Dick MacPherson (1988-90) and Paul Pasqualoni (1991). A three-year starter for the Orange, he spent the first two as a tight end and his final year at offensive tackle. He was named a Preseason All-American by The Sporting News in 1990. As a senior, he was elected team captain and helped lead SU to a 10-2 record, a Hall of Fame bowl victory over Ohio State and a No. 11 ranking in the final polls. After graduation, he spent the 1992 season with the Cincinnati Bengals and the 1993 campaign with the Seattle Seahawks.
