Rhett Ticconi

Rhett Ticconi, an 11-year veteran of NFL special events and operations, was named Cornell Director of Football Operations in October 2006.

In his role with the Big Red, Ticconi provides for the day-to-day administrative operations of the football program, including providing support to student athletes with university matters, budget management, coordinating recruiting needs, organizing community projects and relations and handling team travel. Ticconi also coordinates all recruiting weekends.

Ticconi serves as the liaison to the 1,200-member Cornell Football Association, and is in charge of the Ben Mintz/CFA Golf and Tennis Outing which drives more than $200,000 per year for the football program.

Ticconi spent five years as the Director of Special Events for the Miami Dolphins (1995-99) and six years as their Director of Operations (1999-2005). While with the franchise, Ticconi served as liaison between the Dolphins and the NFL for all game operations and logistics. He was the direct assistant to the head coach regarding team operations. He implemented and oversaw the team web site during the special events years, helping Miami become the first NFL team to have a website. He created the special events department and oversaw all events, game entertainment and pregame tailgating activities. He was invited by the NFL to work four Super Bowls in operations and two Pro Bowls in entertainment and player relations.

Prior to coming to Cornell, Ticconi served as Director of Auxiliary Services at Nova Southeastern University.

Ticconi, a graduate of Barry University with a Bachelor of Arts in sports administration, resides in Seneca Falls with his wife, Kadi and their children, Karter and Ava.
