He was a four-year letter winner as a midfielder on the men[apos]s lacrosse team from 1984-87. Cummings was a key member of the 1987 team that compiled a 13-1 overall record, won the Ivy League title and was runner-up to Johns Hopkins for the NCAA championship. He was named to the NCAA all-tournament team after accounting for five goals and an assist in the three contests, including two goals and an assist in the title game. He went on to earn All-America and All-Ivy first-team honors. Over his four-year varsity career, he recorded 44 points on 35 goals and nine assists. One of the founders of the professional indoor lacrosse league in the early [apos]90s, he played for five years with the New York Saints and also served as team captain. Cummings, a native of Wantagh, N.Y., graduated from Holy Trinity High School, where he won all-league and All-America honors in lacrosse his final year, helping the team to the Long Island Catholic League championship. He makes his home in Thornwood, N.Y.
