Biography

He won the Eastern Intercollegiate 155-pound wrestling championship his sophomore year. He captained the team as a senior and won letters in 1943 and 1946. He was an outfielder and two-year letterman in baseball and led the Eastern Intercollegiate League in batting with an average of .460 in 1943. After serving in World War II in 1944 and 1945, he returned to Cornell to complete his junior and senior year, earning his degree in 1947. A former resident of Alden, N.Y., he was an assistant county agent in Jefferson County and later worked with the Prudential Insurance Co. in its farm mortgage department. He resided in York, Pa.
