He rowed with the Charles Courtney-coached Intercollegiate championship varsity crews of 1901, 1902 and 1903. The [apos]01 varsity set a world[apos]s record for four miles on the Poughkeepsie course. He rowed in the No.5 seat in 1901, and No.7 in 1902 and [apos]03. He was a tackle on the football team for three years, and was a high jump specialist in track. Lueder, who obtained his DVM degree from Cornell in 1902, started his coaching career as head football coach at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1903. From 1904-07 he was an assistant football coach as Cornell. He coached football and taught in the agricultural college at the University of West Virginia from 1908-24. He returned to Cornell as head crew coach in 1925 and [apos]26 He then moved to Jacksonville, N.Y., where he practiced veterinary medicine. A member of the Helms Rowing Hall of Fame, Leuder died in Jacksonville in 1954.
