A two-time All-America and All-Ivy first-team selection, his fine defensive play helped the Cornell men[apos]s lacrosse team capture national championships in 1976 and 1977 and the runner-up position in 1978. During his three years as a varsity starter, the Big Red compiled an overall record of 42-1. Kane guarded and shut down some of the finest attackman ever to play the game. A tri-captain of the 1978 team, he was awarded the USILA[apos]s Schmeisser Memorial Cup as the outstanding defenseman in Division I in both 1977 and 1978, becoming only the third person to ever be given this award two consecutive years. He was a starter for the U.S. National team that captured the World Games championship in 1982. Following graduation, he started his own bond brokerage firm on Wall Street. His native residence is Port Washington, N.Y.
