He won the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association 167-pound championship in 1974, defeating the defending champion on the way to the crown. He finished sixth at 167 pounds at the Eastern championships as a sophomore and junior. He was a three-time unanimous All-Ivy first team selection, earning the honors at 177 pounds in 1973 and [apos]74 and at 167 pounds in 1972. Over his three-year varsity career, he compiled a dual meet record of 42-4-1, going 17-2-1 in 1974, 15-1 with five pins in 1973 and 10-1 in 1972, and he went undefeated in Ivy League competition with a 17-0 mark. He was the recipient of the Peter J. Floros Award three straight years as the team[apos]s most outstanding wrestler. Crawford helped the big Red to Ivy titles in 1973 and 1974 and a fourth-place finish as the Easterns in [apos]74. He was co-captain of the team his junior year.
