Dave Dresser

Biography

Although he never played lacrosse before coming to Cornell, Dresser developed a brilliant career as a star midfielder for the Big Red from 1958-60. He was an All-America first-team selection in 1960, third team in 1959 and received honorable mention All-America honors in 1958. He was an All-Ivy first-team pick in 1959 and 1960 and was a second-team selection as a sophomore. He led the team in scoring in 1959, when Cornell went 9-2 overall and was runner-up for the Ivy title. Captain of the 1960 team, he scored 50 goals and 14 assists for 64 points over his three-year varsity career. The former Baltimore, Md., native and graduate of the Gilman School was also an assistant dean at Ithaca College.
