Dave Feeny II

Biography

Over his four-year career with the gymnastics team, he established Cornell records in the all-around and floor exercise and tied the vault mark. As a freshman, he won four events (floor ex, vault, parallel bars and high bar) to win the Ivy League all-around championship, and he placed second in floor exercise at the North Atlantic Gymnastics League championships. He was named team MVP for the 1983 season, and he became only the second Cornellian to ever exceed the 50-point barrier in all-around competition. He was hampered by injuries during his sophomore year, but placed fifth in the all-around at the NAGL championships. As a junior, he won the all-around title at the 1985 NAGL championships with a meet record score of 53.15. He was co-captain of the team as a senior, when he led Cornell to its third Ivy title in four years in winning the parallel bars and high bar and placing second in the all-around. Feeney, who received his J.D. from the Cornell Law School in 1989, graduated from Rumson Fair Haven (N.J.) High School.
