Biography

An infielder in baseball, he led the Big Red in batting two straight seasons, hitting .426 as a junior and .400 his senior year. He was runner-up in batting as a sophomore when Cornell tied for the Eastern intercollegiate League title with a 6-2 record and compiled an overall mark of 11-6. He holds Cornell[apos]s best career batting average of .379. The recipient of the team[apos]s Dr. Albert Sharpe Most Valuable Player Award in both 1953 and [apos]54, he captained the Big Red his senior season. He was a two-year letterman in basketball and was named the Cornell Sun Athlete of the Year in 1954. His is a former resident of Yonkers, N.Y.
