She was a four-time All-America track performer, earning that honor twice in 1980-81 and twice more in 1981-81. As a senior, she won the Division I AIAW indoor 800-meter title while placing second in the 800 at the outdoor AIAW championships her junior year. She also took home All-East laurels three times in the 800, winning the indoor Eastern championship in 1982 and capturing the outdoor title and finishing runner-up indoors in 1981. Lambelet also accumulated a veritable number of All-Ivy honors, winning four individual Ivy championships (three in the 1500 meters and one in the 800) and two titles as a member of the 1600-meter relay champions. She transferred to Cornell after running track as a freshman at Villanova, where her indoor performance in the 600-yard dash gave her a No.1 world ranking and All-America honors. She was the Ithaca Journal[apos]s Female Athlete of the Year and team MVP in 1981. A 1978 graduate of Onteora High School, she made her home in Woodstock, N.Y., as an undergraduate.
