Biography

He tied for the gold medal in the pole vault and placed fourth in the long jump at the 1908 Olympic Games in London. Cook won long jump titles at the IC4As in both 1908 and 1909, and at the Penn Relays in 1908. He was the AAU pole vault champion in 1907 and 1910. He held the world[apos]s interscholastic record in the long jump and in the 100-yard dash (with others) before entering Cornell. Cook was retired and a resident of Chillicothe, Ohio.
