He was an excellent halfback in football from 1946-49. He is one of very few Cornellians to earn four varsity letters in football. His outstanding play helped the 1948 and [apos]49 teams to 8-1 overall records and unofficial Ivy League titles both seasons. Although injuries sometimes limited his playing time, he still managed to be one of the most productive running backs in the Ivy League. In the 1948 Dartmouth game, playing with a broken jaw he received the week before and wearing a full-face metal mask, Bradley ran 80 yards to score the turnaround touchdown. In the final game of the 1948 season vs. Pennsylvania and playing with his broken jaw, he was again Cornell[apos]s starting left halfback as the Big Red defeated the Quakers for the first time in nine years. Prior to entering Cornell, Bradley gradated cum laude from the Peddie School, where he was president of his class, captain of the football team and was an all-state halfback. He then served as an Army Air Corps navigator during World War II.
