Biography

was a four-time All-American on the basis of her performance at the NCAA track and cross country championships: fifth in the indoor mile in 1991, sixth in the indoor mile in [apos]92, 13th in the outdoor 1500 in [apos]91, and ninth at the NCAA cross country championships in 1991. The five-time All-East performer won the ECAC indoor mile in 1991, while finishing second in [apos]92. She earned All-Ivy first-team honors in winning five individual Heptagonal titles, as a member of seven Heps-winning relays, and in placing second at the Heps cross country championships in 1990 and [apos]91 to earn All-Ivy first-team honors. She set Cornell records in the frosh indoor 800 and the 500 meters, and as a member of the 3200 relay and distance medley relay. She was a finalist for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award as a senior and was a two-time GTE Academic All-America first-team selection. She was the Ithaca Journal Female Athlete of the Year for 1992 and served as captain of the 1991 cross country team. In 1999, she was one of Cornell[apos]s cross country selections to the Women[apos]s Ivy League Silver Anniversary Honor Roll. She is a graduate of Hempfield Area High School in Greensburg, Pa., and resides in Blythewood, S.C.
