A three-year letterman in basketball, he captained the team as a junior and senior, as well as his freshman squad in 1918. He was a center in 1919 when Cornell compiled an 11-3 record and place third in the league. Playing at forward his final two seasons, his excellent shooting helped the team to a 14-6 record in 1920 and a 14-8 slate in 1921, and he was named to the All-Eastern squad and received All-American mention. He won two letters in soccer as a goalkeeper. As a senior, his stellar defensive play held the opposition to just five goals, as Cornell went 7-1 and placed second in the circuit, with the only loss to league champion Princeton. He was accorded All-League second-team honors. Molinet was a first baseman and captain of his freshman baseball team and played on the varsity as a sophomore. He was an engineer for the U.S. Government in his native Cuba.
