Cornell University Athletics

He rowed in the number five seat on former coach Stork Sanford[apos]s first three varsity heavyweight crews, 1937, 1938 and 1939. He was commodore of the 1939 crew, which provided Sanford[apos]s first winning season with a 7-1 record. A three-year letterman in crew, he also played guard-tackle on the freshman football team and was a member of the varsity in 1936 and 1937. He has served as a member of the Cornell University Council and has been a strong and loyal supporter of Cornell athletics.
