He was a All-America first-team selection attackman in 1984, after earning second-team All-America honors in 1983. A two-time All-Ivy first-team selection in lacrosse, he led the league in scoring (18-10-28) in 1983, helping the Big Red to an NCAA tournament berth, a tie for the Ivy title with a 5-1 record and an overall mark of 8-4. Over his two-year career, he tallied 104 points on 68 goals and 36 assists. He was co-captain and team MVP in 1984. He transferred to Cornell from Nassau Community College, where he was the Junior College Player of the Year in 1982. He was selected to play for the United State in the International Lacrosse Federation World Championships in 1990 and 1994. Cook, a native of Levittown, N.Y., is a graduate of Division Avenue High School.
