Laurie Collier

Biography

She was a three-time All-America, All-Ivy and All-Northeast selection as a forward for the Cornell women[apos]s soccer team. During her four-year career, she led the Big Red to an overall record of 35-14-8 and a share of the Ivy title in 1987. She was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division I-II All-America first team in 1986, was selected to the second team in [apos]87 and to the third team in 1985. Collier was a three-time All-Ivy first-team pick and was voted Ivy Player of the Year by the league coaches in 1986. A co-captain as a senior, she set Cornell season and career records for goals, assists and points, and established school and Ivy game marks for pints and goals scored. In 1987, Collier was named to the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America National Women[apos]s Senior Recognition team, and was named Cornell Sun and Ithaca Journal Athlete of the Year. A former resident of West Henrietta, N.Y., she is a graduate of Rush-Henrietta High School, where she was a three-time All-Monroe County selection and a two-time MVP.
