Biography

Morton co-captained the basketball team as a senior. He set the all-time Cornell varsity single season scoring record as a junior (414 points, 18.0 average) and broke that record in 1953-54, scoring 437 points for a 16.8 average. In three years, he totaled 952 points for a 13.0 scoring mark. In both 1952-53 and 1953-54 he was named to the All-Eastern Intercollegiate League team by the league coaches and in [apos]54 he was named as the league[apos]s most valuable player, when Cornell won the Ivy League championship.
