Mike Doran

Biography

He graduated as Cornell hockey[apos]s No.2 all-time career point leader with 148. He ranked second in career goals (59) and assists (89), first in season assists (39 in 1965-66), was second in season points (62 in 1965-66), and tied game records for points (8 twice) and assists (6). He was named to the All-Ivy first team in 1965 and was a second team selection in 1967. He was co-captain in 1965-66 and named co-team MVP in 1965. He was an ECAC championship tournament second-team selection in 1966, when Cornell was runner-up to Clarkson for the Eastern title, and was also an ECAC All-Star second-team pick that year. He was named to the ECAC and NCAA all-tournament teams in 1967, when Cornell won its first-ever ECAC and NCAA ice hockey championships. He graduated from Power High School and was a resident of Islington, Ont. Doran died in Toronto in 1988. Prior to his death, he was assistant general manager and player personnel director for the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club of the NHL.
