Patrick Filley

Biography

He joined the Cornell University athletic staff I the fall of 1945 as an assistant football coach under Ed McKeever. He served under McKeever for two years, and then with Coach Lefty James until 1955. He guided the frosh to an outstanding record from 1948-54, including undefeated campaigns in both 1948 and 1949. In 1955, he was appointed an administrative aide with duties including supervision of the athletic ticket office and handling all special events at Cornell. Filley, who also coached freshman wrestling at Cornell, served as athletic business manager at the University from 1961 to 1974, when he was appointed associated director of athletics in charge of operations, and in 1982, he became an associate athletic director in charge of scheduling. Filley retired from the University in May 1984.
