Biography

Anderson closed out a brilliant career as a Cornell women[apos]s basketball player in 1983, earning All-Ivy first-team honors and finishing runner-up for Ivy League Player of he Year laurels. In addition, she was named the Cornell Sun Athlete of the Year, becoming the first woman to ever achieve that honor. She was an All-League second-team pick as a sophomore and junior. She became the first performer in the team[apos]s history to go over the 1,000 -point career mark, finishing her Big Red playing days with 1,105 points and 762 rebounds. Overall, she set 19 school scoring and rebounding records. The four-year letter winner was among the nation[apos]s leaders in Division I rebounding in 1983. She co-captained the Big Red as both a junior and senior. Anderson is a 1979 graduate of John Jay High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.
