Over her four-year cross country career, she won 12 dual meets, the most in Cornell women[apos]s history. She set the Cornell women[apos]s cross country record for the fastest time run on the Moakley Course, running a time of 17:48.0 in 1983. She placed 13th at the 1983 NCAA District II championships to earn All-District honors. She finished eighth overall at the 1985 Heptagonal cross country championships to earn All-Ivy honors. In track, she won the indoor Heps 3,000 meters and placed sixth in the 5,000 in 1986. As a freshman, she placed sixth in the 3,000 at the indoor Eastern championships in a Cornell freshman record time of 9:43.13 to earn All-East honors. She also placed fourth in the indoor Heps 5,000 with a time of 17:17.10, which also set a freshman record. Captain of the track and cross country teams as a senior, she was named the cross country team MVP in 1985. She was the recipient of the Gatling Award as the senior who has done the most for Cornell women[apos]s track, and the Blanford Award for the most career points. Day is a graduate of Marlboro (Mass.) High School and lives in Colorado.
