She was the first Cornellian to have participated in two varsity women[apos]s sports in one season. She competed in the sprint events for the women[apos]s swimming team for three seasons and played wing defense for the ice hockey team for four years. She was tri-captain of the women[apos]s hockey team as a junior and senior and received All-Ivy honorable mention in 1978-79. At the end of her four years with the hockey program at Cornell, she ranked second in career assists and third in career points (119). Cosentini competed in the 50 and 100 free, 50 and 100 breaststroke, 100 individual medley, and the 200 medley and 200 free relay events. She was one of the team[apos]s top point scorers as a freshman, recording a total of 20 first-place finishes in the Big Red[apos]s seven dual meets. She lettered in swimming in 1978-79, the first year Cornell awarded letters to women athletes, and she won letters in hockey in 1979 and 1980. Consentini is a graduate of Ithaca High School, where the swim team was undefeated in all the years she competed and she never lost a race in four years. She also played hockey for the Tompkins County All-Stars.
