Cornell University Athletics

An outstanding infielder during his three-year career at Cornell, he was named to the All-Eastern Intercollegiate Baseball League first team at third base in both 1971 and 1972. He was a District II All-Star third-team pick in 1971. He led the 1970 team in batting (.311), hits (42), doubles (12), RBI (31) and homers (4), and he topped the [apos]72 team in batting (.314), hits (37), home runs (4) and RBI (22). Boettcher was captain and team MVP in 1972, when the Big Red compiled an overall record of 20-10-1 and placed second in the EIBL for the second straight season. He is a graduate of Madison West (Wis.) High School.
