Biography

He was an outstanding end on Cornell[apos]s Ivy championship teams of 1948 and 1949, as the Big Red compiled 8-1 records both seasons. Bruska rose from the 1947 junior varsity team with such rapidity that he became the Big Red[apos]s top offensive end his last two seasons. In 1949, Bruska was the team[apos]s leading pass receiver, gaining 289 yards on 14 receptions ad scored five touchdowns and he was named to the Associated Press All-Ivy second team. After graduating from the College of Agriculture in February 1950, he was appointed assistant coach in charge of the ends for the Big Red[apos]s varsity staff. He resigned from the position in 1953 to become project director in Cornell[apos]s Office of University Development. During World War II, he was a B-29 navigator in the Army Air Corps. Bruska is a graduate of Mohawk (N.Y.) Central High School.
