He led the basketball team in scoring (414 points) as a senior, and topped the squad in rebounds as both a sophomore (315) and junior (294). He also led the Ivy League in rebounding and ranked among the national rebound leaders in 1967 and 1968. He graduated ranked sixth on Cornell[apos]s all-time career scoring list (1,014 points), and fourth in both career rebounds (840) and rebound average (11.4). Esdaile was an All-Ivy second-team selection in both 1967 and 1969. He was named the most valuable player and honorary captain of the 1968-69 team. The New Haven, Conn. Native graduated from Hillhouse High School, where he received all-state honors in basketball.
